Time is just flying by!
My brother-in-law is sleeping on a couch in the middle of the room outside my room, so I exit my room to go to the kitchen on my floor. And as I'm opening the kitchen door he starts rustling in the bed sheet I threw on him the other night. And I was just like hello, it's just me. And then he went back to snoring... Really though... He shouldn't be sleeping in the middle of the room. It's not a bed room. :/ So I refuse to feel bad about waking him up... Not my fault man!!! Although I am a night owl... Hey, not everyone's in the same situation. Just like not everyone takes assurance, albeit MOST people take assurance (i'm one of them).
Anyyyyways... I feel like I'm working a bit better... I don't think I'm working good enough, but I'm working better...
There are 2 qualities that I find that is needed to study well
1) the ability to work continuously
2) the ability to work efficiently.
If you have those two qualities, everyone needs stand back while you blow these cases away *WHOOOSH!*
1) I'm lacking in 1
2) I'm fairly strong in 2
Recommendations for myself:
1) Some alternative solutions:
- Think "it's not a big deal"
- Almost finish (by that I mean, personally when I finish studying a certain section, I stop. So just almost finish. and I won't stop!)
- Think "sacrifice for gold" - If you're somewhat competitive and you like to rank high among your peers then aim for the highest rank possible!
- do take a break but make it less often
2) work as efficiently as possible! (improvements here will be made... BUT I MUST MAKE THEM IMMEDIATELY AFTER I FINISH THE CASE I"M CURRENTLY WORKING ON)
SUCCESS IS NOT FOR FREE. IT COSTS SOMETHING!:
- check out the notes I made in the comment of that video to quickly absorb the main points.
<-- To me, this is inspiring. Whoever this dude is who gives these speeches is awesome. Some teenager shows that he's practiced day in and out to get better and better each time. He didn't just GET his goal. He got it by aiming for it every time. And eventually he got close. <-- This video is amazing!!!!!!! The narrator says a lot of valueable stuff. I highly recommend it to any candidates writing the CFE. It makes you think and act critically.
Additional Motivation
If you don't want to watch it, here's the best part in my opinion: 1:50 to 2:14:
Rocky basically says: nothing hits harder than life, it's not about how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward!
Also I noticed a 12 year old comment saying: he listens to this before every workout. I'm going to read and listen to it before every study session.
9:12 AM - debriefing
YOU"VE GOT TO BELIEVE!
Working smart and not hard really pays off!!! By that I mean,,, for example, when you do a case, you don't have to give all the points possible to achieve a mark of competent. I like to think that out of all the possible points let's say there are 12, you should give 1 more than half to assure yourself of a C. :) Theoretically, to me, this is correct. However, I should look back on all the feedback I got to see if this is true. Now that I think of it, while yes, THAT is true. You really have to do a perfect job on all the points you hit. So even if you do more than half, you may only be awarded half or less than half (because of the quality of points. That being said. It's basically essentially that you go back and check the quality of your points as well as filling in additionally points! :)
